In small towns and metropolitan areas across America, our youth are struggling to create a brighter future. Violence, substance abuse, low fitness levels and high dropout rates are impairing our children's ability to succeed. Crime, drug and alcohol use are among the most serious problems affecting America's young people.

The Boys & Girls Club of Denison provides young people with guidance-oriented character development programs conducted by trained, professional staff and qualified volunteers. In the Denison community the Boys & Girls Club positively impacts lives and help young people reach their full potential as productive, caring citizens.

Every day the Boys & Girls Club of Denison inspires their members. Whether encouraging young people to complete their homework, play sports or recreational activities, enter an art competition, or have a healthy snack. Club staff knows the important role they play in creating the wholesome environment kids need.

Millions have benefited from belonging to a Boys & Girls Club since the first Club opened its doors in 1860. Based on research by Louis Harris & Associates Club alumni have very strong feelings about their individual Club experiences:

80% said Club staff helped them learn right from wrong
95% indicated the Club was the best thing available in their community
52% said participating in the Club "saved my life"

Summertime

Our summer program matches the Denison school schedule. The first day of the summer program is Friday, June 7. Our last day will be Friday, August 23. We are open Monday - Friday from 7:30am to 6pm. The only day we will close is Thursday, July 5th. We will be open Friday, July 5.

Breakfast, lunch, and a snack are served at no cost thanks to our participation in the US Dept. of Agriculture Summer Food Service Program. Our meal times are:
Breakfast 7:30 to 8:30 am
Lunch 11:30 to 12:30
Snack 3pm

We encourage everyone to eat with us and all our meals meet USDA nutrition guidelines. If you choose to send food with your child we absolutely do not have refrigerated space available and we cannot store outside food with our food.

Some other helpful hints:

we ask that your child not bring their mobile phone
do not bring any toys from home
be sure your child has their belongings when leaving

The Club does not accept responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.

Now, check out our dues and fees.

You only pay for the days you child actually attends the Club. We ask that you pay on Friday for the coming week. If your child does not attend everyday you planned we will carry the balance as a credit. Anyone owing fees will not be allowed to go on a field trip even if you have paid for the trip. It will be applied to your balance owed.

The cost is $10 per child per day for the first two children in a family. Additional children are half price.

If your child/children receives a free/reduced price lunch the cost is reduced to $5 per child per day for the first two children. Additional children are half price or $2.50 per day.

We take a wide variety of fund and educational field trips. The complete schedule is at the front desk.
